We build Marlow for teams that write things down

Marlow started in 2021 when three people at a Portland logistics company got tired of answering the same questions in chat every week.

Chat was fast. Finding the answer later was not.

Chat was fast. Finding the answer later was not.

Every team we worked on had the same problem. Decisions were made in threads, then lost under a hundred newer messages. People asked again, and someone answered again, slightly differently.

So we built the tool we wanted: team chat where the answer is a first-class thing. Mark a reply as the decision and it is pinned, searchable and linked to the conversation that led to it.

Today Marlow is 24 people across five time zones, and about 1,900 teams use it every weekday. We are funded by customers and a small seed round, and we plan to stay independent.

If a decision matters, it goes in a thread with a name and a date. We use Marlow to build Marlow, so we feel every rough edge first.

Export everything at any time. We do not train models on customer messages, and we never sell data.

Most of us work from home. The Portland studio is open to anyone on the team who wants a desk, and we meet there twice a year for a week of planning.
